Top Gear Skoda Yeti Helipad
We thought that Top Gear had kicked in to the start of a new series – Series 16 AB (that’s ‘After Boring’ Top Gear) – when we had the Three Wise Men Christmas Special and the preceding Top Gear East Coast USA Road Trip. But it was a trick; nothing more than an hors d’œuvre for the new series. But Top Gear series 16 does start tonight – 8pm BBC2 (GMT).

CAR Magazine's new July 2009 issue of CAR Magazine is now on sale. This magazine has a Nurburgring slant to it, as we end the pub argument once and for all: which is faster around the 'Ring, the Porsche 911 or Nissan GT-R? Porsche is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 911 this year with several events including the Retro Classics show in Stuttgart, Germany, an exhibit at the Porsche Museum and honored marque status at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Porsche also went racing with the new 911 RSR in the first event of the World Endurance Championship this weekend, and has posted a clip on its YouTube channel. The 991-based Porsche 911 RSR houses a 4.0-liter flat-six making 460 hp with a new six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters.
